
1970 Heppelwaite Steinway “F” console in walnut with a matching bench. The “F” was the last and best version of this extremely popular console. It’s 2 inches taller, with longer bass strings, and a much improved stringing scale that gives this small upright the sound of a modern Steinway grand. It also has the most advanced iteration of the venerable Pratt/Read console action, with bigger springs and weighted keys.
Steinway stopped making these in 1982, so there aren’t going to be any more of them. Have some fun with a living icon of the past. $5500
