Steinway “F” Console, late 1970’s

This is a Steinway “F” Console, one of the last consoles, made in the late 1970’s. It has the late model fullsize Pratt Reade action, and the reworked stringing scale. This, plus a perfect soundboard give this piano an especially rich and powerful sound, and a much faster key return than many earlier versions of Steinway’s console.

The Heppelwaite case has always been the most popular of Steinway’s console styles [there are 4 others]. This is a nice walnut, with the original matching bench, and I have taken the trouble to provide it with a new period-correct decal and a properly cut music desk. They don’t make these anymore, and this is a nice one, suitable for a fairly serious player. $4500
